HI-Tech System To Detect Railway Track Defects. Indian Railways is using
Track Recording Cars (TRC) and Oscillation monitoring System (OMS) for
detection of track defects in addition to manual inspection. Ultrasonic Flaw
Detection is also done using Single Rail Tester (SRT) and Double Rail Tester
(DRT) to check internal defects in rails. Procurement of six nos. Self
Propelled Ultrasonic Rail Testing (SPURT) Car for detection of internal defects
in rails is also planned. Further, it has been decided to undertake trial of
Ultrasonic Broken Rail Detection (UBRD) System, Rail Fracture & Intrusion
Detection System using distributed optical fiber sensing and Loco-Vision
Analytics and Rail Integrity Monitor system (RIM) on some stretches for
detection of broken rail.

14.11.2017; first package of the Delhi –
Meerut Expressway project stretching from Akshardham Temple to Delhi-UP
border will be ready by December this
year. The 9 km, 14 lane highway is being
completed in a record time of 14 months as against the earlier expected
construction period of 30 months. This is Indoa's first national highway in the
country with 14 lanes, and has several features that would help reduce
pollution. These include a 2.5 metre wide cycle track on either side of the
highway, a vertical garden on the Yamuna Bridge, solar lighting system and
watering of plants through drip irrigation only. Shri Gadkari said this highway
will be developed further upto Lucknow, and will be a lifeline for the people
of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh

for a continuous period of three (3) financial years during 2013-14 to
2015-16.; Steps are underway for setting-up National Financial Reporting
Authority (NFRA), an independent body, to test check Financial Statements,
prescribe Accounting Standards and take disciplinary action against errant
professionals;. A separate initiative is underway to develop a State-of-the-Art
software application to put in place an 'Early Warning System' (EWS) to strengthen the Regulatory Mechanism.
27.10.2017; Modi Cabinet approved a Rs. 7,002
crore plan for construction of permanent campuses for six new IITs, to be
completed by 31st March 2020. Each campus will have facility for housing 1,200
students, beginning from the academic year 2020-2021. Currently, these
institutions are functioning from temporary campuses with a total strength of
1,530 students. After construction of the campuses, this strength will go up to
7,200.
27.10.2017; Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) –
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)
and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) have undertaken LPG network
expansion exercise to strengthen LPG supply chain through advertising for
appointment of more than 6000 new LPG distributorships primarily in rural areas
across the country. This is in addition to the locations in which already
selection has been made and process of commissioning distributorship is
underway to expand availability of LPG to all. For the first time, OMCs have
changed the selection process from physical to digital mode with the
introduction of online receipt of application, processing and online draw. This
initiative of the Ministry is part of promoting digital India movement and to

22.10.2017; Prime Minister Sh Narendra D Modi
Inaugrated the first ever ferry service in India between Ghogha and Dahej in
Gujrat. It will reduce the travel time
between the two places from 6-8 hours to mere 1-1.5 hours.
20.10.2017; After cleaner ghats, Ganga at
Varanasi to be pollution-free too. Varanasi town currently generates an
estimated 300 MLD of sewage, which is expected to increase to 390 MLD by 2030.
From the current capacity of three existing sewage treatment plants – Dinapur,
Bhagwanpur and DLW, only 102 MLD of sewage is being treated while the remaining
flows directly into river Ganga through Varuna and Assi rivers. To bridge this
gap, a 140 MLD STP at Dinapur and a 120 MLD STP at Goitha are being constructed
under Japan International co-operation Agency (JICA) assisted project and
JNNURM scheme respectively. These projects are at advanced stage of
construction and will be commissioned before March 2018. Apart from this, a 50
MLD STP at Ramana has also been awarded under Hybrid Annuity based PPP model to
exclusively address the sewage treatment requirements of Assi BHU area.
Concession agreement for this project has already been signed. Together, these
STPs will create sewage treatment capacity of 412 MLD, adequate to meet the
sewage treatment demands of the town till 2035.

cities on its banks are the biggest source of pollution for Ganga. Of this,
1750 MLD sewage comes from just 10 cities. 34 projects worth Rs 3581 crore had
been sanctioned for Ganga cleaning between 2008-2014, while 56 projects worth
Rs 9630 crore have been approved since 2014 till date 18 of these projects are
ready, Shri Gadkari said the other projects will also be done by March 2019.

the first three states to be declared ODF. Nationally, the sanitation coverage
has increased from 42% to over 64% in just two and a half years since the

of houses for urban poor as against Rs.32,713 cr during 2004-14;

Central assistance of Rs.27,883 cr has already been approved for release
to States/UTs under PMAY(Urban) as against Rs.20,920 cr during the ten years of
previous government;
4.
PMAY(Urbana) has been extended to Middle Income Groups there by
benefitting people with annual incomes up to Rs.18 lakhs, covering large
sections of the society;

Specific time limit of 2022 has been fixed for achieving the Housing for
All target as against the open ended approach of the previous government; and

More importantly, an enabling eco-system has been created to promote
affordable housing through various initiatives like granting Infrastructure Status

Airlines to fly to 31 new cities this year. 128 unconnected-by-air city pairs
will get flights between April and September. This would be under the first

14.2.2014; The National Pharmaceutical
Pricing Authority of India on Monday fixed the ceiling price of drug eluting
stents (DES) and bioresorbable stents at Rs 30,000 (US $441) and that of bare
metal stents at Rs 7,500 (US $110). The prices will be effective from
notification on February 14. This comes as a huge relief to lakhs of patients
who have to undergo coronary angioplasty to insert stents to open up clogged
arteries. Over six lakh stents were estimated to have been used in
angioplasties in India in 2016.

Saksharta Abhiyan' (PMGDISHA) to make 6 crore rural households digitally
literate. The outlay for this project is Rs.2,351.38 crore to usher in digital
literacy in rural India by March,.2019.
8.2.2017; Modi Government has accorded ‘in
principle’ approval for setting up of atomic power plants at Gorakhpur in
Haryana and Mahi Banswara in Rajasthan for setting up 4 reactors of 700 MW
each. At present, Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) are under
construction in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana. More PHWRs are proposed to be set up in the
states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Karnataka.
8.2.2017; Gujarat has become first State for
establishing Cashless System for distribution of foodgrains. Gujarat installed
Aadhaar Enabled Payment System in 17250 FPSs, much before the targeted date of
31st March, 2017.
8.2.2017; Union Minister of Water Resources,
River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharti informed that presently
42 sewage infrastructure projects are under execution. These 42 projects
envisage to create 327.93 MLD sewage treatment capacity. Till December 2016,
253.50 MLD sewage treatment capacity has been created. Sewer Network of 3896.55
km is to be laid under these projects. Sewer network of 1060.96 km has been
laid and balance work is under progress. The Minister informed that currently,
eight projects of sewage treatment plants are under execution at a total cost
of Rs. 348.76 crore. These projects envisages creation of 109.40 MLD treatment
capacity. Till December 2016, treatment capacity created was 33.40 MLD.
Sushri Bharti informed that online Effluent
Monitoring Systems have been installed in 572 out of 760 Grossly Polluting
Industries (GPIs) and online data is being captured at dashboard from 266 such
industries. Monitoring data connectivity to MoWR, RD & GR, CPCB, State and
State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) is being undertaken. Also, 135 GPIs have
been closed for non-compliance to stipulated norms and 17 have been exempted
(ZLD achieved). Balance 36 units have been given deadline till 31st March 2017
for installation of online Effluent Monitoring System (EMS).
The Minister said eight Real Time Water
Quality Monitoring Station (RTWQMS) are operational under National Hydrology
Project. A network of 113 RTWQMS has been planned. In Phase – I, 36 RTWQMS is
under installation and to be completed by March 2017. CPCB has proposed to
install nine RTWQMS on the tributaries of River Ganga.
The Minster informed that as of now 2789
villages have been declared as Open Defecation Free (ODF) villages out of 4291
marked Villages on the main stem of the river. A total of 8,96,415 (54%)
Individual House Hold Latrine (IHHL) have been completed out of targeted.
Sushri Bharti said Projects for 182 ghats and
118 crematoria have been sanctioned. 50 nos. of ghats and 15 nos. of crematoria
are under progress at present. The work in respect of all remaining ghats/
crematoria will commence within the next three months. Against the target of
15.27 lakh individual household latrines, approx. 10 lakh individual household
latrines are expected to be completed by March 2017. Liquid and solid waste
management in 25 selected villages will be started within the next three
months. Pre-plantation activities will be taken up in all five Ganga states, so
that plantations against the work plan of 2016-17, as well as 2017-18 are taken
up during the next monsoon season.

replaced with LED Lights throughout the country under Street Lighting National
Programme (SLNP).

crores free gas connections have already been disbursed by 25.12.2016.
Under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana
(DDUGJY), Government of India is providing free electricity connections to BPL
households. Out of total 4.27 crore connections sanctioned, free electricity
connections to 2.5 crore BPL households have been provided as on 31.10.2016.

Modi govt introduced ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal
Bima Yojana’:
i) There will be a uniform premium of only 2%
to be paid by farmers for all Kharif crops and 1.5% for all Rabi crops. In case
of annual commercial and horticultural crops, the premium to be paid by farmers
will be only 5%. The premium rates to be paid by farmers are very low and
balance premium will be paid by the Government to provide full insured amount
to the farmers against crop loss on account of natural calamities.
ii) There is no upper limit on Government
subsidy. Even if balance premium is 90%, it will be borne by the Government.
iii) Earlier, there was a provision of
capping the premium rate which resulted in low claims being paid to farmers.
This capping was done to limit Government outgo on the premium subsidy. This
capping has now been removed and farmers will get claim against full sum
insured without any reduction.
iv) The use of technology will be encouraged
to a great extent. Smart phones will be used to capture and upload data of crop
cutting to reduce the delays in claim payment to farmers. Remote sensing will
be used to reduce the number of crop cutting experiments.
The new Crop Insurance Scheme is in line with
One Nation – One Scheme theme.
Schemes for small and medium enterprises.
Loan limit increased from 20% to 25% of
turnover.
Overall limit increased from Rs 1.00 crores

Deemed income reduced from 8% of turnover to

(i) Constitution of the Special Investigation
Team (SIT) on Black Money under Chairmanship and Vice-Chairmanship of two
former Judges of Hon’ble Supreme Court,
(ii) Enactment of a comprehensive law – ‘The
Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act,
2015’ which has come into force w.e.f. 01.07.2015 to specifically and more
effectively deal with the issue of black money stashed away abroad,
(iii) Constitution of Multi-Agency Group
(MAG) consisting of officers of Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Reserve
Bank of India (RBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Financial Intelligence
Unit (FIU) for investigation of recent revelations in Panama paper leaks,
(iv) Proactively engaging with foreign
governments with a view to facilitate and enhance the exchange of information
under Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAAs)/Tax Information Exchange
Agreements (TIEAs)/Multilateral Conventions,
(v) According high priority to the cases
involving black money stashed away abroad for investigation and other follow-up
actions including prosecutions in appropriate cases,
(vi) While focusing upon non-intrusive
measures, due emphasis on enforcement measures in high impact cases with a view
to prosecute the offenders at the earliest for credible deterrence against tax
evasion/black money,
(vii) Proactively furthering global efforts
to combat tax evasion/black money, inter alia, by joining the Multilateral
Competent Authority Agreement in respect of Automatic Exchange of Information
(AEOI) and having information sharing arrangement with USA under its Foreign
Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA),
(viii) Renegotiation of DTAAs with other
countries to bring the Article on Exchange of Information to International
Standards and expanding India’s treaty network by signing new DTAAs and TIEAs
with many jurisdictions to facilitate the exchange of information and to bring
transparency,
(ix) Enabling attachment and confiscation of
property equivalent in value held within the country where the
property/proceeds of crime is taken or held outside the country by amending the
Prevention of Money-laundering Act, 2002 through the Finance Act, 2015.
(x) As a result, the money held by Indians in
Swiss banks has fallen by nearly one-third to a record low of 1.2 billion franc
(CHF) or about Rs 8,392 crore amid a continuing clampdown on black money and
corruption.

(xi) To curb corruption and prevent leakages
in subsidy distribution Modi govt is has moved 447 schemes identified across 58

advice to those with Jan Dhan accounts to hold on to what has been deposited in
their accounts: cast him as the architect of transfer of money from rich to

Other Benefits of demometization;
i) Earlier a lot of figures of black money were
thrown around whereas no one was actually aware of how much was black money was there which is held in cash. Now cash has been deposited in banks.
ii) Most future transactions are expected to be through banks. This would be
taxable leading to another additional tax earnings which can be used to
alleviate poor and remove poverty.
iii) Stone pelting and terrorism which was a paid
profession is likely to be reduced though this benefit may be only of a short
term unless we can control China’s CPEC in POK.

perceptible fall in killings. There has been no dalit killings in radical brahim

v) Entire machinery of terrorists is presently

255 political parties have been de-listed by
Election commission which never contested any elections in last 10 years. Under
Law made by earlier regimes donations to political parties is exempt from
Income tax. Thus one can form a political party, deposit black money in its

of the aforesaid 1824 Acts, 227 Acts (including Appropriation Acts enacted by

है ! और हमने रोड बनाने में Space Technology का उपयोग किया
है। Space Technology से photography होती है, monitoring होता है। हमने
रेलवे में Drone का उपयोग किया
है। photography करते हैं, काम का हिसाब लेते हैं। कार्य संस्कृति Technology की मदद से कैसे
बदलाव लाया जा सकता है।
ग्रामीण आवास
योजना, पिछली सरकार में एक साल में,
1083000 घर बनते थे। इस
सरकार में एक वर्ष में 2227000 घर बने।
National Urban Renewal Mission एक महीने में पिछली सरकार में 8017 घर बने। हमारी योजना से 13530 घर बने हैं।
पहले Broad Gauge Railway का commissioning
एक साल में 1500 किलोमीटर हुआ करता था। पिछले साल यह बढ़ करके 1500 किलोमीटर से सामने 3000 किलोमीटर, double और हम 3500 किलोमीटर तक
किया !
Solar Energy को लाया गया। 2014 में 2700 मेगावाट थी, आज हम उसको 9100 मेगावाट पहुंचा दिए हैं।
DISCOM योजना के कारण, उदय योजना के तहत राज्यों को उस योजना जब वो सफल कर पाएंगे
करीब-करीब 1 करोड़ 60 हजार से ज्यादा रकम राज्यों की तिजौरी में बचने वाली है और
राज्यों के साथ जोड़ करके अगर भारत सरकार ने 1 करोड़ 60 हजार की घोषणा कर दी होती, तो चारों तरफ कहते कि वाह, मोदी सरकार ने इतना पैसा दिया। हमने
योजना ऐसी बनाई कि राज्यों के खजानों में 1 लाख 60 हजार करोड़ रुपया DISCOM
के द्वारा, उदय योजना के द्वारा बचत होने वाली है
पिछली सरकार के
समय LED Bulb करीब तीन सौ, साढ़े तीन सौ, तीन सौ अस्सी उस रुपये में चलते थे। LED Bulb से energy saving होता है हमने बड़ा mission रूप में काम उठाया और करीब-करीब इतने कम समय में पिछले आठ-नौ
महीने में इस योजना को बल दिया है। इतने कम समय में 21 करोड़ LED Bulb लगाने में हमने सफलता पाई है और तेज गति से आगे
बढ़ रहे हैं। और अब तक जो LED Bulb लगे हैं उसके कारण परिवारों में जो बिजली का
बिल आता था, वो जो बिजली का बिल कम हुआ है, वो परिवारों में करीब-करीब 11000 करोड़ रुपयों की बचत हुई है। अगर किसी सरकार ने बजट में 11000 करोड़ बिजली उपभोक्ताओं को देने का तय किया होता, तो अखबारों में Head-Line बनती। हमने LED
Bulb लगाने मात्र से 11000 करोड़ बिजली का बिल सामान्य मानव के घर में कम किया है।
17 मंत्रालय के 84 योजनाएं, हमने Direct Benefit Transfer AADHAR योजना के साथ जोड़ करके उसको आगे किया और 32 करोड़ लोगों को 1 लाख 56 हजार करोड़ रूपया Direct Benefit Transfer स्कीम में दिया गया।
PAHAL योजना हमारे यहां गैस सिलेंडर जाते थे, सब्सिडी मिलती थी, जब उसको आप AADHAR योजना से जोड़ा तो उसका leakage करीब-करीब 26 हजार करोड़ रूपये से ज्यादा leakages रूका, जिसका परिणाम यह आया कि डेढ़ करोड़ गरीब परिवारों को गैस
का कनेक्शन देने हम सफल हुए हैं।
जब से हमने Technology का उपयोग किया AADHAR का उपयोग किया करीब-करीब 3 करोड़ 95 लाख, फर्जी राशन कार्ड पकड़े गए, उससे करीब-करीब 14 हजार करोड़ रकम बिचौलिए मार खाते थे, गरीब के हक का मार खाते थे, वो मुख्य धारा में आया और गरीबों की तरफ गया।
यूरिया चोरी
होता है कारखानों में चला जाता है किसान के नाम पर subsidy के bill कटते हैं लेकिन किसान को लाभ नहीं मिलता था। यूरिया का दूसरा दुरूपयोग होता था synthetic-milk बनाने में और उसके कारण गरीब बच्चों की जिंदगी के साथ खेला
जाता था। यूरिया को 100% नीम कोटिंग किया आपने निर्णय किया था, छह साल में आपने सिर्फ 20%, 35% cap लगाने के बाद 35% भी नहीं पहुँच पाए, सिर्फ 20%, नीम-कोटिंग किया। हमने आ करके इस बात को हात में लिया और 188 देश, आपका छह साल, मेरा छह महीना हिंदुस्तान में 100% नीम कोटिंग यूरिया कर दिया,
